Veteran Trades Helmet for Magic Hat to Inspire Others

Eric Davis’ great-grandfather served in World War I, and his grandfather served in World War II. Like his brother, who joined the Marines, Davis continued the family legacy of service when he became a member of the Army National Guard.

During a tour in Iraq, Davis found joy in performing magic tricks for his fellow troops. They said it was a welcome distraction from the daily conflict they faced.

Today, Davis is back home in Hopewell, Pennsylvania, where he continues to share his passion for magic. He has performed for children, families, other service members —and even on live television. Many veterans who see his show tell Davis that they appreciate what he does for the community.

At some point, Davis would like to travel to different VFW Posts to entertain more service members. By #StillServing in this way, he hopes to inspire other veterans to realize their own gifts and use them to continue serving in their communities.
