How are you Still Serving?

I arranged and hosted a Veteran Coffee & Information Get Together for veteran members of my community. There were 13 veterans and one spouse in attendance, including two women Army veterans who retired as Warrant Officers after 28 years of service each. We discussed establishing a community Veteran appreciation spot in the clubhouse, the Military Women’s Memorial (both the female Army retirees are inaugural members of this organization), The local VA Clinic goods & bads (as we know them from experience) and some other general information military subjects. I provided the latest edition of the VA Federal benefits Book to anyone who wanted one. I helped two veterans who wanted to know how they could apply to the VA for service-connected disabilities, and I provided free coffee, donuts and water for all attendees.

Why do you do it?

Because anything I can do to help a veteran be a little better off in life, I will do.
