Where did you serve and what did you do?

I served in Iraq. I was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division as an Infantryman.

Tell us how your dog is helping you continue Still Serving in your community.

My dog Bella is a replacement to my last service dog that passed two years ago. She is a Irish Settler and still a young girl. She helps me with controlling my emotions, she senses when I am having an bad day, she also senses when I am about to have a seizure. Bella is constantly keeping me busy, and she works hard each day to keep happy. Bella also goes out in the community today as I travel. As we go places she makes the world smile with how loving and sweet she is. She interacts with other combat veterans in my community.

Why do you do it?

The reason Bella and I are striving to make others happy is to bring awareness to the war that is within Combat Veterans. Dogs are more than just another animal. Dogs are warriors too. Bella battles each day when I am going through rough moments. Bella is more than a dog she Is my best friend and a loyal companion.
