How are you Still Serving?

Easterseals Crossroads Veteran Services Community Outreach Coordinator. We work under the Department of Labor's (HVRP) Grant, Homeless Reintegration Program where we make sure that veterans who are struggling with housing issues find gainful employment, then we connect them with supportive services. I also facilitate a networking group called Joining Community Forces Indiana (JCFI) connecting veterans to veteran service providers, with over 2000 on our distro.

Why do you do it?

Helping Veterans thrive in their communities also helps me deal with my stress and anxiety. It is very gratifying to help a veteran. Just by offering a smile, conversation, or some time of day lets a veteran know that they are not alone, and it may even save a life.
