Where did you serve and what did you do?

US ARMY, Combat Medic, last deployment April 2021 to February 2022/ Kuwait and Iraq.

My best canine friend is “Ginger”. She is a Teddy Bischon/ Shitzu. She has been by my side since I retired after 32 years of service. She is a staple at the Rockford VA where we report 3 times a week, along with visits at my mother’s Senior living home. She makes people “smile”!!! And she is a snuggler, which is a great thing for other Veterans with disabilities. I originally got her for me with my PTSD, but she serves everyone she comes in contact with. She also attends weekly coffee groups and has even attended billiards, all Veteran groups.

Why do you do it?

To bring a smile to others. We have been told numerous times by other Veterans that she ” made their day!”.
