Tell us how your dog is helping you continue Still Serving in your community.

My service dog Dodger was gifted to me by Northwest Battle Buddies, before Dodger I was a recluse…I hated my life…I was angry. I was afraid and alone..Dodger has given me a sense of purpose. He gives me strength and gets me out in ppublic. I rejoined the VFW and helped sign the charter for a new VFW Post (12228, Stanwood WA) Even went to State Convention this summer. I honestly couldn’t be doing this without my Service Dog. He goes everywhere. He was even Hospitalized with me in Topeka, KS VA (SDTP). The staff was amazing! He’s flown with me and has had me driving again since day one meeting him.

Why do you do it?

Because I have something meaningful in my life….and with my return to the VFW it makes me want to reach out and help other veterans.
