I am currently the Commander of VFW Post 5690 in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Why do you do it?

I do it because VFW is my branch of service now. From the days of childhood and seeing my grandfather’s shadow box with his VFW collar piece I knew I wanted to join this organization. I only joined the military so I could go to war and eventually join the VFW. I now wear my grandfather’s VFW collar piece on my uniform shirt.
