Where did you serve and what did you do?
I served with the Marines in Iraq during two tours. I was a logistics specialist/chief and dealt with convoys, suicide bomber response, and other incident as necessary.
Tell us how your dog is helping you continue #StillServing in your community.
Nala, my PTSD service dog, has assisted me over the years by helping to “ground” me during time that may trigger my anxiety or depression. With her help I have been able to go out into my community with her and allow people to come and ask questions pertaining to how she helps and what I have done. This has helped to dispell the myths of how dangerous veterans with PTSD are as the media and Hollywood would show.
Why do you do it?
I do it to help people know it is ok to reach out to veterans. It let’s people know that we are always here and ready to provide for our country, communities, and our brothers/sisters in arms
