Ruger is a special dog. Our Post 5297 starts off the Cathlamet Eagle days parade. Ruger likes to sit on the float and as it rolls by Children and Adults cheer and scream. At the end he gets more attention and love from the community than we all ever thought possible. During our fund raisers people walk by and stop when they see him. He is a bit of a Ham for sure!

Why do you do it?

I love to see people smile when they see him. He loves going to wheel chairs and gives kisses. We never trained him but he knows to stay off the body. He stands on the chair arms or foot pads. He loves the attention. If someone is crying he stops and sits until he gets permission to clean their tears.
