How are you Still Serving?

Ed is always volunteering whenever we have a project, he is the commander of the Post Color Guard and helps tremendously with the Honor Guard having participated in over 25 funerals the past year. He played a instrumental roll in the opening of the Russell Building (our building just for kids so we can continue to recruit younger members who may not have child care) has helped secure the donation of a new garage to replace the dilapidated one we currently have and is currently working to get a memorial statue for the Gulf War era veterans added to the memorial at the Randolph County Courthouse. Ed goes above and beyond donating handmade items for raffles (hope chest, table, purple martin house) recruiting new members and helping let the community know that we are still here. Outside of the VFW he is a reserve police officer, school resource officer, attends Quorum Court meetings and pushes for community improvement..

Why do you do it?

If I were to ask him why he does it, I’m certain his answer would simply be Why not?
