Where did you serve and what did you do?
Greg Doss is a former service officer for the VFW Post in Belen, New Mexico, a former Jr. Vice Commander for the VFW Post in Henry County, GA and VFW Life Member at his local Post in Jonesboro, Georgia.
How are you #StillServing?
He shows up for Post members and the community by volunteering at toy and food drives, staying up to date on and sharing veteran resources and much more. In addition to his work with the VFW, Doss is a member of Merging Vets and Players. The nonprofit focuses on improving the mental health of veterans and former professional athletes during times of transition through peer-to-peer support.
Why do you do it?
Doss realized a passion for volunteering while he was still in the Air Force, serving as a workplace violence and suicide awareness trainer for his squadron. He has used that experience and others — including his own struggles after leaving the military — to help fellow service members reintegrate into civilian life.
Doss is #StillServing to let other men and women who served know about the mental health resources, support programs and VA benefits available to them. Above all, he wants them to know there is no reason to ever give up.
