Marine Corps, 2d Battalion 2d Marines, Helmand Province, Afghanistan as Optics Chief.
How are you #StillServing?
At the moment, I’m 3d printing masks and hospital supplies for the surrounding hospitals in the wake of this horrendous tragedy. I hope to make a difference with what little capabilities I have at my disposal.
In using the GI Bill and now Vocational Rehab, I have the opportunity to help extend my knowledge to the student body. Working with a former co-worker, we started a STEM organization at my college to enhance the knowledge and minds of college students.
Why do you do it?
The pandemic is affecting everyone and everything. The nurses, doctors, and technicians that are putting their life on the line for the sake of others are more honorable then I can describe. While we as veterans had the opportunity to make that decision freely, these health care professionals have the tenacity and willingness to excel beyond what is normal. They didn’t signup to fight this battle. The least I can do is try to help.
The college organization allows me to extend my personal and professional experience into practical efforts allowing a student to excel in a subject or find a successful career. It allows the students a place to ask questions and collaboratively learn new subjects and topics. It even allows some to bring their ideas and concepts to light.
