Where did you serve and what did you do?

I served in Iraq from 2008-2009, infantrymen. Afghanistan from 2011-2012, infantrymen.

How are you Still Serving?

I am commander of VFW Post 149, have served as Senior Vice Commander from 2016-2019. I am also a member of the Disabled American Veterans and Marine Corps League. I also hold an appointed position in local government. As well belong to other various fraternal organizations.

Why do you do it?

As a veteran who served in two combat theater’s. When you get home you miss the camaraderie and sense of purpose. To not let my own internal battles win. I took a proactive approach and reaching out to what my community was able to provide. In finding the VFW it gave me a sense of belonging and that your service doesn’t need to end once you separate from the military.
