I moved from the Chicago suburbs to Mesa, AZ in the pursuit of tranquility. The walks and hikes through the Tonto Ntl Forest with my dogs, connected me with nature and ultimately resulted in me becoming part of the US Forest Service, which is an amazing and noble organization.

Why do you do it?

It is a connection to nature, an opportunity to educate the public, a way to “leave it better than you found it”, and a way to continue to serve my country while wearing a uniform and operating in a structured environment.
