Tell us how you’re giving back to your community.

Unfortunately I recently had to retire from law enforcement after being injured in the line of duty. Prior to that I had history of being a volunteer law enforcement officer as well as volunteer fire fighter. As now I’m not able to give back the same way being disabled, I pick up trash in the community and in the national forest. I also volunteer with a veteran organization helping prevent wildfires by using downed wood to make biochar that in return helps the soils.

Why do you do it?

After being injured I was told that I will die at a younger age so to the injury. This in turn has made me want to preserve nature for the futures to come. I live/ own a tree farm that I constantly manage for the next generation to enjoy.
