I moved from the Chicago suburbs, to Mesa, AZ in pursuit of mental tranquility, health and nature. Exploring the Tonto National Forest with my dogs, led to me becoming part of the US Forest Service, on a Veteran hiring Authority. There, I have learned much and pass it on by educating the public, building, restoring, maintaining and leaving the Mesa ranger district better than I found it.

Why do you do it?

It is my way of continuing to serve. The uniformed and structured enviroment in this amazing organization is a perfect fit, and is quite rewarding and theraputic.
