Where did you serve and what did you do?

I served in the USMC from June 1965 to April 1969. I served in Vietnam (Chu Lai) from September 1966 to April 1968. My rank was a Corporal (E-4). My MOS was Aircraft Hydraulic Mechanic, fixing USMC aircraft in Vietnam and in North Carolina (MCAS New River).

How are you Still Serving?

I have held many positions in my local VFW Post 664 over the last 40 years to include Post Service Officer, Post Adjutant, Senior and Junior Vice Commander and Post Commander. Today, I “Still Serve” to teach our young Post officers and members the true meaning of the VFW purpose and mission. Fostering camaraderie among US Veterans is key.

Why do you do it?

Due to my experiences in the military, VFW and life situations that I have faced, I feel I need to pass on my knowledge to our young Veterans and citizens of my local community.
