Where did you serve and what did you do?

I joined the U.S. Army in 1966. Basic training was at Fort Polk, Louisiana. Taught electronics and electronic repair of the MPQ-4 and MPQ-10 Weapons Support Radars at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. Then it was off to Vietnam to be Sergeant in Charge of an avionics (aviation electronics) repair shop in support of the high-tech OV-1 Mohawk Surveillance Aircraft.

How are you Still Serving?

Since 2015, I have been a volunteer photographer at community events in Minnesota. That includes, The Minnesota Special Olympics Polar Plunge, Vietnam Veterans Day gatherings, Veterans on the Hill, Memorial Day ceremonies, Taps Across America, Independence Day parades, Brainerd Elks Flag Day ceremonies, the annual Bataan Memorial March, Veterans Day, Community Thanksgiving and much more, As a life member of Brainerd VFW Post 1647 in Brainerd, Minnesota, I created and maintain the BrainerdVFW.org website. A volunteer job, it is a five-time award winner that has more than 100 pages of content, telling the story of helping veterans and the community. https://www.brainerdvfw.org/
