Micah
Where did you serve and what did you do?
I served in Iraq in 08-09 with the 37th IBCT doing convoy security. Afghanistan was 10-11 and I served with the 827th Engineer Co doing base development and improvements. I served 6.5 years in the Army National Guard in total.
Tell us how you’re giving back to your community.
I am a life member of the VFW and District 15 of Pennsylvania District Chaplain. I serve as a Chaplain in Knoxville, Pennsylvania VFW 6753. I help out with the food bank they host as well. I also have my own church on Facebook called Broken Spirits Ministry. I have a Bible study on Wednesdays and live stream video service on Sunday evenings. I am the Chaplain for the Tioga County Honor Guard where we perform military funeral services as well as public events such as Memorial Day and Veterans Day.
Why do you do it?
I care about veterans as well their families. I believe in helping veterans get the help they need through advocacy and support. Most made the choice to serve. Others were told they had no choice but go. We all need hope. We all need our voices heard.
