Where did you serve and what did you do?

I served it the PA Army National Guard (and Army Reserves.) for 29 years. I deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq in 2003 and 2007 respectively.

Tell us how your dog is helping you continue Still Serving in your community.

My service dog Valor helps my by calming my anxiety and helping me maintain space when we are out in the community. I volunteer with my local VFW and my son’s little league team. Valor is usually the team mascot. Valor is also instrumental in me educating people about service dogs, service dog laws and etiquette.

Why do you do it?

I have volunteered most of my adult life. After the overwhelming anxiety of PTSD and the depression that came along with it, I took years off from servicing my community. I have always wanted to give back or pay forward to my community in a way that meant something or made a difference in those I was helping.
