How are you Still Serving?

I am a 2 time cancer survivor due to military service. Stage 3 colon cancer in 2016 and Stage 4 mouth cancer in 2023. The second cancer forced me into my SAIC retirement. Now that my cancer is in remission, my wife and I volunteer at the local hospital cancer infusion room a few hours a week. We help the staff and reassure patients that cancer is survivable using myself as an example. I see a lot prior military service people there and they are always happy talk to so someone with a background and challenges.

Why do you do it?

Because I can.
