Where did you serve and what did you do?
Air Force firefighter from 1989 – 2009. From Germany, North Carolina, South Korea, South Dakota, Hawaii, North Dakota and Texas. Many deployments in there as well!
How are you #StillServing?
Chair for Cass/Clay Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster. This is a local, membership-driven, umbrella organization that serves as the forum where member organizations share knowledge and resources throughout the disaster cycle-mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery to help disaster survivors within our communities.
Why do you do it?
As a student of the North Dakota State University Emergency Management program I was asked to attend a quarterly meeting as a representative of the El Zagal Shrine. 2017 became a Shriner and the rest is history!
Normally we respond after a disaster; but with COVID-19 while the disaster is happening, we mitigate and collaborate on a weekly basis with Emergency Managers, and Public Health Officials to sustain our communities’ resiliency.
