Tell us how your dog is helping you continue Still Serving in your community.

“Recon” is a Belgian Sheepdog and an excellent service dog and has a “fan club” at the local Cheyenne VA. His ability to sense changes in me and other veterans is amazing. At the local VA , he seems to know when another veteran is having an issue and makes them put their hand on him. People who meet him are surprised that he is only 3 years old and acts more mature than his age. I’ve been to hospitals and VA hospitals around the Midwest and West and he is always a hit where ever he goes. I’m very lucky to have him.

Why do you do it?

My PTSD is the reason. But I let him help other veterans as he sees the problem. He loves children and his innate abilities to sense issues really helps me and those around me.
