Robert

York, Pennsylvania

Where did you serve and what did you do?

I served in Iraq in 2009, as a multi-channel transmission system operator/maintainer (25Q) in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. I was enlisted from 2005-2011.

How are you Still Serving?

Since I left the service, I used the GI bill to go to college and began a carer in public education. I've been teaching for about 13 years, mostly at the middle school (7th grade) level. I've taught a variety of subjects and ability levels, but my current focus is on mathematics.

Why do you do it?

I found my true calling through my military service- training and teaching. I do it because it's where I truly feel called. In teaching, I really am fulfilling my life's purpose and serving the surrounding community by doing so. .
