Tell us how your dog is helping you continue Still Serving in your community.

My dog, Major, has given me confidence to continue doing everyday tasks. He has also allowed me to reenter the full time work force after a 3 year break. He is by my side constantly. I work for a Service Dog organization and the freedom that Major has given me make me enjoy the job I have bringing that freedom to other people.

Why do you do it?

I want people who are shut in and don’t know the freedoms that a service dog can give them to experience that. I very enjoy sharing what Major has allowed me to do and letting people know that PTSD is not a death sentence and you can reestablish many of the things you used to do before.
