Where did you serve and what did you do?

I enlisted in the U.S. Navy as an E-1 in 1983 and served 32 years with the U.S. Navy Seabees/Civil Engineer Corps. After promoting to Builder Chief Petty Officer, I was selected for a commission retiring in 2015 as a Commander (O-5).

Tell us how you’re giving back to your community.

I am currently serving as the Quartermaster for VFW Post 2466, an All State/All American post for the past three years. I also serve on the Lubbock City Council, Veterans Advisory Comittee.

Why do you do it?

After a 32 years Active Duty Service, my fellow veterans have become family. I enjoy sharing time with and supporting those who’ve served; particularly our elder veterans, Purple Heart recipients, and Gold and Blue Star families.
