Where did you serve and what did you do?

#VFWDayofService at the Post, 4601 W Lincoln Hwy, Downingtown, PA. Lucky Dawg Pet Rescue and Soldier Sanctuary were hosted at the Post to bring awareness to the local community of the plight of animals in need of a home. We had a respectable turnout with one dog and three cats being adopted during the event.

How are you Still Serving?

Absolutely serving with the Chamber of Commerce and Veteran Owned Businesses throughout the year. We hold many events at the Post to include Memorial Day Observance and lunch, Car Shows, 250th Anniversary Celebration July 4th, Battle of the Bands in September, and free meals for veterans on Veteran’s Day to name a few.

Why do you do it?

It’s good for the soul to give to others less fortunate or hampered by past experiences in the military. We offer a retreat for veterans who might be entertaining suicide as a means to deal with their troubles.
