Where did you serve and what did you do?
USAF 21 years 9 months including 22months in Vietnam
How are you #StillServing?
The week of 30 October through 4 November I shopped for $1,500 in non-perishable food items (total of 794 pounds) requested by the Myrtle Beach VA Clinic and their UCH Food Bank and food distribution system. On 4 November the Post 10804 Commander Mike Mishoe and I delivered the food to the VA Clinic. The post initially authorized the $1,500. I had applied (in the name of Post 10804) for a VFW Grant for the $1,500 under their United to Combat Hunger grant program. It was approved and me and the post were able to provide necessary food items for the clinics dwindling food bank.
Why do you do it?
As a veteran, I know some veterans suffer with getting-by in life. I have the opportunity to help in some areas, so I do.
The attached picture is of me and Commander Mishoe standing behind my food-loaded truck parked in front of the Myrtle Beach VA Clinic. I tried to attach a second picture of the Clinic’s Volunteer Services Coordinator, standing with us, accepting the delivery, but it wouldn’t let me post it
